Thanks for checking out my website. What is there to know about me? Well, I'm married to my high school sweetheart, a girl way out of my league. She likes art museums (that's an audio guide to her ear in the photo below), being a doctor, and for reasons I've yet to understand, me. We have two daughters, who keep our lives interesting, and a Mastiff-Rottweiler mix named Scout. She sticks her tongue out when she sleeps.
What else about me?
Speaking, writing, living. It's what I do. And while the speaking and writing parts give me professional fulfillment, it's the living that makes me who I am. What does "living" mean to me? It's actually quite simple. It's about relationships. It's about family. It's about setting ambitions goals--dreams, some people call them--and then chasing them with all I have.
In chasing my dreams, I've discovered the same thing many others have discovered--making dreams come true is hard. It involves failure. It requires perseverance. But how does a person keep picking himself up and trying, over and over and over, even when the odds are against him? That's the topic of my favorite keynote speech, which you can learn more about here. It's an idea I'd love to share with your gathering of writers, students, or employees. So poke around, see what I have to offer, and most importantly, keep chasing your own dreams.
Oh, and by the way, I've recently spent a lot of time and effort (and if I'm going to be honest, money) on training for and building a voiceover career. I'm available for independent work as well as projects through my agency, GoVoices, based in Denver. To visit my VO site, click here. You're doing voiceovers now, you say? Hey, variety is the spice of life, right? Plus, it's really fun.
